Love Running Over
Acts 20:35 In everything I have pointed out to you [by example] that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more to be envied) to give than to receive.
To have a healthy love walk today, spend time this morning thinking about what you can do for somebody else. Don't wait for God to ask you to do something; take the initiative and say, "Okay God, what can I do to be a blessing on Your behalf today?"
The best days you live are the ones you spend loving other people. Choose a particular person, and think about ways to bless him or her. If you don't know what to do, just listen to what he or she says, and before long you will hear of that individual's needs. Sometimes taking the time to listen to someone in need and not speaking is a blessing in itself.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
I don't believe this is a scripture with only one meaning about giving. Giving of our finances unto God is a necessary but, to be able to love others, we need to be able to give of ourselves. As we begin to let God use us to love others He will begin to bless every area of our life. When every area of our life is blessed by God, we can't help but to run over with joy, love and peace, and eventually we effect everyone around us. It's a never ending circle of love, giving and blessing.
Be a blessing today and remember that as we meet others needs, God is going to give back to us; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.
Do you want to live a running over life? Well, you can start today by loving someone!
